Biography
Sherry Brennan is a senior media and technology executive & advisor, known as a strategic thought leader and tough-but-fair negotiator. She has experience in both startup environments
and with some of the nation’s largest media companies, having represented Fox in hundreds of deals. She’s equally adept at crafting deals in uncharted territory, identifying obstacles to product scale, assessing teams, using data for strategic decisions, and communicating complexity in simple language – a skill which she’s used as an expert witness and as an Advisor. She has strong tech & quantitative acumen including AI/ML experience, and is a recognized leader in the streaming space.
Trained as an economist, Sherry brings a big-picture, collaborative problem-solving attitude into every arena. She’s a skillful and creative negotiator, whose experience includes launching Hulu as part of the Fox/NBC team, and creating Fox’s first vMVPD deals. She handled delicate internal negotiations between Fox Studios and Fox Networks Group to ensure optimal content monetization for both. She has the distinction of having crafted the industry’s first SVOD agreement between Cablevision & Fox, and commissioned the first “SVOD Portals” for Cablevision’s iO Digital Cable service. While at Fox, she oversaw publication of an annual trends book for senior management and brought economic techniques to subscriber forecasting.
Whether leading a large cross-functional team or bringing a small team of experts together, Sherry’s direct but open style draws talent and insight into bold, decisive strategic action. She’s sensitive but fearless, enthusiastic and persistent – and never afraid to roll up her sleeves. Sherry leads with compassion and service, strength and rigor.
A frequent speaker at industry conferences such as CES, OTTx, TVOT and others, Sherry has also received many industry accolades, including Cablefax’s “Most Powerful Women in Cable” for 10 years during her tenure at Fox. She was honored as a Wonder Woman by WICT, received a LEA Award and a Genii Award from SoCal WICT and the Alliance for Women in Media, respectively, and was chosen as one of the Top Six Women in Technology by Multichannel News.
Sherry is also a dedicated community advocate, serving on the Board of the Food Research & Action Center, where she devotes time to eradicating poverty-based hunger in America.
