Biography
Molly Barton is the CEO and Co-Founder of Realm, the audio entertainment company that creates immersive audio series with award-winning companies and top-tier talent from across the entertainment industry. Realm operates the largest fiction podcast network with more shows in the top charts than any competitor. Under Barton’s leadership, Realm has created #1 hit fiction podcasts and fan favorites like Webby-winner IF I GO MISSING THE WITCHES DID IT starring Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe; ECHO PARK starring Harry Shum Jr; Ambie-nominee ORPHAN BLACK: THE NEXT CHAPTER starring Emmy-winner Tatiana Maslany; MARIGOLD BREACH starring Jameela Jamil and Manny Jacinto; OUTLIERS narrated by Rory Culkin; BLACK FRIDAY with Fred Armisen; and MEMORY LANE, written by Sara Shepard, the New York Times bestselling creator of Pretty Little Liars.
Previously, Barton was the Global Digital Director of Penguin Random House, where she led its audiobook and ebook business, digital product innovation, and content strategy. In addition, Barton also founded Book Country, the writer collaboration and self-publishing platform for genre fiction writers. She has served on the boards of digital media start-ups in New York, London, and Melbourne.
Barton earned her B.A. from Wesleyan University, where she has also served as a faculty member in the Writing Programs. Molly has spoken on the future of media and publishing in over a dozen countries and at Harvard, Yale, NYU, and Columbia.
