Fabian Stechel

Fabian Stechel is a Managing Director at Evolution Media Capital (EMC), Creative Artists Agency’s merchant bank, which provides a broad range of traditional investment banking and strategic advisory services to organizations across the sports and media industries. Headquartered in Los Angeles and New York, EMC has advised on more than $60 billion in transactions for its clients since its inception in 2008. Based in the New York office, Stechel has played a key role in building the company into an industry leader, negotiating and advising on more than $12 billion in sports media deals.

During his tenure at EMC, he has worked on behalf of premier content owners including professional sports leagues and teams, college conferences, and international federations on their media rights as well as business strategies.

At EMC, clients have included the International Olympic Committee (IOC), National Hockey League (NHL), WWE, PGA Tour, Major League Soccer (MLS), Riot Games/League of Legends eSports, PGA of America, Ryder Cup, Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and several leading European soccer teams, among others.

Prior to joining EMC, Stechel served as Project Manager at SCP Worldwide, a sports, media, and entertainment company in New York and the holding company of an NHL team and an MLS team. In this role, he worked on sports media investment opportunities.

Stechel received a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. He speaks both German and English fluently. In 2019, he was selected by Sports Business Journal as a “Forty Under 40” honoree.
