The Future of Shoppable Television
The retail business is undergoing an unprecedented new wave of disruption and innovation. Among the developments taking shape is the emergence of ‘digital campfire’ platforms focused on ecommerce live streaming which are driving a new kind of consumption online, especially for younger audiences. Among the leaders in the space is the Chinese app Shopshops, which allows viewers to watch and interact with influencer hosts and sales people, who display clothes and accessories, similar to a Digital QVC +, and make purchases from retailers around the world. This session will discuss how this new business model is impacting the retail, ecommerce and live streaming markets and how consumer behaviors and expectations are evolving.
