Thanda Belker

Thanda Belker is executive vice president, pay television, U.S. distribution for Sony Pictures Television (SPT) where she oversees licensing and marketing for the transactional businesses. In Belker’s position, she oversees linear pay deals for film; SVOD as an add-on to linear; and SVOD standalone for both film and TV. New frontiers in the burgeoning SVOD OTT space includes licensing current TV series earlier than standard syndication windows.

Belker is also an integral part of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) where she manages multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) for VOD/PPV and EST. She has identified and launched new windows and models to offerings such as TV Everywhere and multi-platform products. Belker has led industry promotional efforts in the VOD category with the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) and notably has served as an original Steering Committee lead for the Movies on Demand (MOD) campaign made possible by the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) since 2009.

Belker joined Sony in 2000 where she was responsible for worldwide VOD and PPV under the former Sony Pictures Television International. In April 2005, she became vice president, pay television for SPT and later joined SPHE in April 2009. Prior to joining Sony, Belker worked at Buena Vista Television licensing domestic hotel and residential PPV and VOD, and before that, she served as director, programming at TeleTV Media.
