Biography

John F. Collins, Managing Director for Broadcast & iTV for Media Storm since January of 2013. While at Media Storm, John has formed deep relationships with clients and media vendors and has been instrumental in bringing Media Storm clients into Advanced Advertising including On Demand-Dynamic Ad Insertion, Addressable as well as promoted our clients programs into a Post Premiere C3 window extending the value of original programming.

Prior to joining Media Storm, John was one of the original team members of Canoe Ventures, the joint venture of the 6 largest cable operators. John was on the original planning committee while at Time Warner Cable, joining Canoe Ventures as Senior Vice President of Product Management in the summer of 2008. From 2000 – 2008, Collins was Group Vice President of Advanced Advertising Technologies for Time Warner Cable. In this role, Collins was responsible for developing new advertising applications in the interactive, targeted and On Demand environments.

Collins also represented Time Warner Cable on a variety of industry committee’s including IDiA (Innovation in Digital Advertising) and CTAM’s On Demand Consortium, where he was the Co-Chair of the Advertising Sub-Committee. Collins has also worked on the multi-mso Cross MSO group since its inception in 2002. In addition Collins has worked intra industry with CTAM and the cable marketing group on the cross MSO initiative “Only Cable Can”. Collins was recognized in 2004 as a Rainmaker

Award by the CTAM organization for his work on the Only Cable Can retail initiative. In 2005 Collins was recognized by the CAB as its Presidents Award winner along with Cox and Comcast representatives for their work on the Cross MSO group. Previously he was Vice President & General Manger of Time Warner Cable Direct. While heading TWCD he was instrumental in setting the strategic course for the business and growing revenue from $12 million dollars in 1996 to over $100 million dollars in 2001 when he began to focus on Advanced Advertising.

Prior to joining the company in 1996, as General Manager of Time Warner Cable Direct, he served as Vice President of Affiliate Relations for Cable Networks, Inc. (CNI) the national spot cable rep firm owned by Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation. He has also served as National Sales Manager of Time Warner CityCable Advertising and NY1 News and as Account Executive at Madison Square Garden Network and Healthlink Television. Collins began his career in cable advertising sales at Cable Networks, Inc in 1982.
